Results:

Feedback from leadership and our partners was very positive.

Summary:

A common rush project, I was asked to pull together a landing page featuring a few existing resources alongside other content yet to be identified. The client (internal department) had no qualms about requesting an animated intro too.

Due to a number of constraints, I could not deliver an animation from After Effects on short notice. But I did offer up active title text within the header using built-in Beaver Builder functions.  The client was very happy with the result.

The rest of the page was a bit of a mash up of content, over which I had little control. I did the best I could in the alotted time. The inconsistent color usage applied since I left BSF also leaves something to be desired.

However, the best parts of the page are still intact: the top and bottom. The list of partners at the bottom took a lot of work positioning the logos in a way that also worked well on mobile. We did not have a reliable plugin to rely on for laying them out in a hierarchy, so it had to be done manually.

Thankfully, leadership assured me they and the partners were very happy with the results. The page was very visual, easy to navigate, and it gave them a strong visual talking point with the Biden administration showing Blue Star Families’ outreach efforts. (It’s cases like these where the impact on users is sadly not the highest priority.)
